And the winner is …

Film i Väst, Scandinavia's premier regional film fund, is an organisation that aims for the stars – and often reaches them. Hollywood A-listers, including Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe and Chloë Sevigny have all come to Trollhättan for the artistic challenge, if not the weather. Since its inception in 1992, the fund has looked for projects that can please crowds as well as critics.


Film i Väst is a hub of diversity, creativity and geographical reach. Film i Väst has co-produced more than 300 features to date, including Fucking Åmål, Melancholia and Turist. 2016 saw its first Oscar nomination. To lend credibility to ever more international productions, a visual identity in keeping with the organisation’s shift in direction – from fundraiser to creative partner – was needed.

From fundraiser to creative partner.


The new logo is the key component of an identity roomy enough to encompass every conceivable genre – from costume dramas and thrillers to documentaries. The symbol, eye-catching, playful and reminiscent of a director’s clapboard, reflects the importance of genuine co-operation.


The new identity and name change were gradually unveiled in the spring of 2015, and launched internationally at the Cannes Film Festival.

The letter V (for Väst) visually morphs into an F (for Film).
